# Read RentX Reviews

Surfaces customer reviews for a rental car or a rental company so the user can judge quality before booking.

## When to use

- The user asks "is this car any good?" or "what do people say about this company?".
- The user wants to know a company's overall rating.
- The user is comparing cars and one factor is review quality (see also: [[compare-rentals]]).

## Inputs to gather

Required:
- Either a rental ID (for car-level reviews) or a company ID (for company-level reviews).

Optional:
- Minimum score filter (e.g. "show me 4-star+ reviews").
- Maximum number of reviews to return (default ~10).

## How to execute

### Car-level reviews

1. Call `get_rental_reviews` with the rental ID.
2. The response includes per-review:
   - Overall score (1–5).
   - Category scores: `cleanliness`, `condition`, `communication`, `accuracy`.
   - Comment text.
   - Optional host reply.
3. Summarize: average score across reviews, weakest category if any (< 4.0), and 2–3 representative quotes (positive + critical).

### Company-level reviews

1. Call `get_reviews` with the company ID, optionally with `minScore` and `limit`.
2. Summarize: overall company rating, count, what the company is consistently praised or criticized for.

## How to present

- Lead with the headline rating ("4.7 / 5 across 84 reviews").
- Call out anything below 4.0 — that's where bookings go wrong.
- Quote real customer language sparingly (1–3 short quotes).
- Note review recency — old reviews are less reliable than recent ones.
